I bought these darling mustard colored tights the other day. I just loved them, however, can I really pull off that look with the items I already own?
I am wearing this Banana Republic silk blouse with very cute pleating (beige with little dark grey dots), a wool Gap skirt in charcoal grey, and these brown leather t-strap sandals.
Does this work? I thought it did laid out on the bed. This is not a normal look for me.
If it doesn’t go, what would I change (shoe, shirt, skirt)? I have some black wedges, but they don’t really stay on my foot with the tights and all. I plan to go to dinner with a bunch of ladies.

@sienna76: The shoes are throwing it off for me. I would do a darker shoe to better match the skirt and so they do not stick out so much.

Um love, right up my alley

I don’t like the shoes though. If you have a closed toe it may look better. I actually like thights.

not a fan of colored tights…I’m definitely not cool enough for that

ok first off let me say I am the queen of colored tights- the only color I don’t have is orange.
I have these exact yellow ones and first you have to change your shoes.
never do tights and opened toed shoes…
I would then add a belt maybe like a red one- or a brown one to match the color of your shoes- to your waist- the type of belt is important too.;.. but there are lots of options for that…
a cardigan could help as well or some type of pull over looking thing but it just depends…
as for the tights looking good on your legs a +
last: do what makes you feel comfortable.!

I’m not really into open toed shoes with tights. It will always remind me of my grandma in her birkenstocks with her pantyhose. I would change the shoe to something that goes better with the skirt, either black or dark grey.

change the shoes- do you have some boots or booties or something you could wear instead?

also if your skirt is blue I wouldn’t do black shoes-

The skirt is charcoal grey, not blue actually.
I don’t own any closed toe black shoes. Poo! I am not trendy enough to have black booties! I guess I’ll have to wait until I get some then.

Would this boot go? It’s at Dillards. They have black too.

Hmmm I like the tights, shoes and top, it’s the skirt I have a problem with:/
I don’t know :/

You’re skirt isn’t quite right for the look, it either needs to be a more fitted pencil skirt or a more flowy skirt.

@sienna76: I love those booties. I have a friend on facebook who has been wearing yellow tights lately and looking super cute… I’m going to go look at her pictures and see what she did.

OK, we have a general consensus on the tights and top are OK – but the shoe and skirt aren’t working.
I’ll just have to start over with something different, I don’t have a different skirt or shoe at this moment (although you google mustard tights and there are tons of open toed shoes in the images).
