My wedding colors are red, black, and white also. If I could have it my way I would wear a red wedding dress but I am not doing that because it is not in my budget. If I did wear a red wedding dress I would have the braidmaid wear black dresses and maybe red or white sashes.

I have really liked the trend of a blush wedding dress with neutral bridesmaids (ivory, gold, champagne) its very soft and romantic ๐Ÿ˜€

xxBambi_Dearxx:  I don’t think the bride blending in with the decor is a concern. Have you ever been at a wedding where the bride wore a white dress and had white table linens and not been able to figure out who was the bride?

I am having a grey wedding dress, I didn’t even consider a coloured dress until I fell in love with this one. After purchasing I was a bit concerned I might not look like ‘the bride’, but it is quite poofy and very ‘wedding dressy’ in style, so I think it’ll be quite obvious! I don’t think anyone would wear a dress like it as a guest! ๐Ÿ™‚

I also think having a veil, bouquet etc will make sure you still feel bridal on the day.

xxBambi_Dearxx:   I think if you wear a colored wedding dress, you just have to accept the fact that you run the risk of a guest wearing the same color as you.

my dress is a pale blue. I’ve mentioned to a few people that the dress will be blue, I can’t stop people wearing blue to the wedding and I won’t. MOG AND MOB seem to be ‘spreading’ the word that blue is the colour scheme so avoid the colour but I’m not going to be upset if someone wears the same colour to the wedding. the bridemaids are also wearing blue, a dark blue. best men/FOG/FOB will be wearing ties that match the bridesmaids dresses and groom will wear tie that matches my dress.

My avatar is my dress being made.  I will be in red, my girls in black with a red sash, the groom in black with red and the groom’s men in black with white.  There are tons of inspiration images on Pinterest.

Our colors are mostly black and white with a pop of red..that pop is ME!!!!  LOL

We limited the red because we want to keep it elegant looking and not so much goth looking.  The only thing that will be red on our tables are the #s on the table numbers, the red napkins and possible some red in the centrepieces.

I am not asking any of my guests not to wear any color.  No one is expecting me to wear a colored dress and no one will have a problem figuring out I am the bride.

I have attached our tables #s so you can see the red, black and white.

this thread is great because I just bought a red dress and I’m still trying to figure out what the color scheme should be. I tried on a dozen of the traditional white gowns but I do not even feel mildly excited to wear them.

xxBambi_Dearxx:  I’m wearing a red dress. We’re eloping (just the two of us, so no bridal party), then having a party, so the party would be the only time it would be an issue for me. It wouldn’t bother me if anyone else wore red, to be honest. I’m the only one who will be in a beaded, satin evening gown, so I’m sure I’ll stand out!

Ellielie:  I LOVE that dress! Go for it!

My dress was black….my colors were blue, pink, and purple. (the bridesmaids wore a royal blue; their flowers were a vibrant pink/purple; my flowers were pastel pink/purple.). I am sure there were people wearing black–it’s a formal color! However, I am pretty sure I still stood out, as I was the only one with a train, long lace sleeves, veil, bouquet, etc. My dress was the black version of Enzoani Dakota, by the way. Unless your wedding is super black-tie, you are going to stand out just by virtue of wearing a wedding dress.

I’m wearing dark grey (Gunmetal it’s called), and I’m hoping none of the guests wear grey but can’t really stop them. Most people know the colour scheme is charcoal and silver so hopefully it will work out in our favour. My main concern was not standing out in the photos, but I’m over that now that the dress is hanging in my wardrobe. I can’t wait to wear it.

I’m not having a bridal party, but if I did I would probably just choose a complimentary colour. I’m a firm believer that it is your day and you can do whatever you want ๐Ÿ˜‰
