Fiance and I are getting married in the early fall at an outdoor venue that is a tree nursery. Tons of different trees all around, and right by a lake. To go with the beautiful nature around us, we think we want to do a green and brown and ivory color sceme. Bridesmaids in chocolate with green and ivory bouquets, maybe champagne vests and ties for the guys (still in tuxes), etc.
I told my mom this and she was not thrilled. There is a white pergola at the venue, and she thinks that it would look really plain with just the green and ivory flowers. She suggested adding peach to our color palette to liven it up.
I kind of see where she is coming from, but I think peach may take away from our very natural vision of the colors and may make it more girly looking than Fiance or I are comfortable with.
I would LOVE your thoughts and especially love any pictures you have to help me visualize it! Are there any other colors you would recomend? Or are green and brown good?

I think green, brown and ivory would be really pretty together! I like how the ivory looks in your inspiration board.
If you decide against ivory, what about green, brown, and gold or green, brown, and copper? This inspiration board is also pretty:

green brown and ivory… THE END! leaves so much open, you could use small amounts of gold, coppers, even black…. everything will mesh well if those are the main 3 colors….. GO WITH YOUR GUT GIRL!

I think gold or copper would be very pretty. If you are looking for a pop of color I think muted oranges or yellows would look nice also.
But I think green, brown and ivory would look beautiful.

Don’t add another color. You have brown and ivory which are neutral and then green as a color.

I agree with the other girls! I really like how the brown, green and ivory compliment each other. I don’t think it will be too plain at all!

Brown, green, ivory and maybe little pops of turquoise or orange?

I like your colours, stick with it 😉

Thank you all so much! I was getting so nervous about looking “blah” after my mom said that! I think I will not add another color, but as a few of you mentioned, maybe a few touches of gold…

Our colors were brown, green, ivory and splashes of purple! And our flowers were orange!

When I saw the title I immediately thought…ivory! Keep your original colours!

Ivory, brown and green are our colors too 🙂
You don’t need a fourth color! You can have an amazing arrangement (like the one in your post) in your colors. For example:
By the way, I LOVE your inspiration board! 🙂

My colors were chocolate brown, moss green, ivory and PURPLE. However, I didn’t over use color anywhere. Our wedding was on the deck of a large cabin, I carried purple hydrangeas with ivory peonies, my Maid/Matron of Honor wore a moss green and ivory dress. The hydrangeas were the only splash of purple we used and it was a gorgeous contrast. I think your inspritation board is beautiful, but if you want to add a fourth color I think a colored flower would be a nice way to incorporate it.
