Why not go with standard white or ivory linens?  I think ivory would be warm enough to match the brown and reds very well.  I wouldn’t try to match colors too much – it’ll never be perfect and could look overwhelming.  Plus, if you don’t like brown you won’t want to see it all over your wedding tables!  I think gold chargers sounds like a great way to incorperate the “earthy” tones from the chairs, and claret table runners or centerpeice accents would bring everything together well.

As for uplighting, red could work but be sure to see it in person (at night if that;s when your reception is) to make sure it doesn’t look too fuschia or pink.  Gold could also work, depending on your room.

A picture would be helpful, too.  🙂

@ENarcy: I totally agree about white.. white and red remind me of a prom!!!! To bright and stark.. ivory and red would look nice though!

What about champagne? It would compliment the brown and the red. You can then use the deep red in your centerpieces.

You could go with gold overlays instead of borwn, since you hate brown.  That way you can save on the chargers as well.  You don’t have to bring out anymore brown than what is already on the tables.  How about red or gold chair sashes as well.

I would do red, gold, and purple. I wouldn’t worry about thosechairs too much, but they will accent gold very nicely. If you have deeper colors the brown will just fade into the backround. You can do your flowers in the red and purples, and accent with the gold. Or you can just do tons of red with bits of gold accents, including the wall.

Ooh, so many possibilities! What other colors do you like? I feel like you need one other color with the garnet/brown/gold to give it some life… here are a few boards – do any of these strike you?

Adding orange (plus a touch of green):

Adding black and white – very elegant & dramatic:

Adding teal blue – this shows more silver, but you can do gold instead; it would be richer (this is my personal favorite):

@ENarcy: What would you consider “reasonably priced”? save-on-crafts.com has them at 6 for $12.60, which seems like a  pretty good price (plus shipping, of course). But I haven’t really compared.
