Need the help of the more creative/artistic bees out there!
One of the venues we are thinking about has two connected rooms:
one room has dark green carpet with a sort cream/white colored print (like leaves or flowers or something). The other part of the room is an atrium that is pretty neutral colored with a tile floor. The chairs would likely be white.
We’re planning to get married in summer or early fall (early October at the latest).
What colors do you think would go with the dark green carpet? It’s like a dark forest or hunter green… I’ve been trying to visualize, but can’t come up with much.

Hi, what kind of a feeling do you want the room to have? Do you know what flowers or Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses you want?

I don’t know about the feeling… I just know I don’t want anything too formal or too busy.
I don’t know if I can use only candles or candles in bowls for centerpieces, or if I would need flowers, too. I guess I’m just trying to think of what color flowers would work. Ceremony will be outside and we’ll have flowers there, but if it rains, the ceremony will have to be in the room with the dark green carpet.
Not sure about the Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses either. I was going to base it on what worked with the venue. But, I will only have 2 BMs and I plan on just telling them to get a dress they like in whatever color I choose. It doesn’t need to be a spot-on match.
The reception will be a Sat. evening. If we do June, July or August, we are considering doing a BBQ at the venue (steaks, chicken and salmon) with buffet style veggies, potatoes, etc. if that helps.

You could do just about any color with white and green! Have you done an inspiration board? You could look for photos you like, and then look for reoccurring colors, patterns, etc. Do you already have a gown? Check with your venue contract about use of candles. It sounds like you like the candle idea, if you can’t have real candles there are battery operated candles. If you’d like to send me some photos you can email them to me, and I wouldn’t mind helping you brainstorm some ideas! 🙂

Thanks! Maybe I’ll take you up on that if we decide on this venue 🙂

I think you could maybe do a deep purple color, and that would probably go well with a dark green carpet – almost along the lines of peacock colors….a little bit! I’m doing dark plum for my October wedding and everyone keeps saying it’s CRAZY popular right now. But in summer months I don’t know if you wanted to go that dark. I always like the dark colors though! You could always go with a dark brown in maybe a shinny material, or black (though I almost did that and my mom was NOT a fan!!! haha)…
If you like lighter options, maybe even a light, pretty yellow on the bridesmaids and flowers? That would be a nice, fresh feel against the green, kinda looking fresh and summery.
