Maybe try going on Pintrest and looking up the two colour schemes so you can really see them in action.

Agreed to Pinterest!!  Check out these colors in action with other colors and items. I’m currently helping my mom with her wedding colors.
At first she really liked teal and black.  But once she saw photos of weddings with that color scheme she wasn’t a fan and totally switched it up.  Pinterest is my best friend! haha

yes to pinterest and boards. I would also think about what colors look the best with your coloring. I have a periwinkle sapphire so that helped us determine our first color and cream makes my skin absolutely glow and my husband really wanted to wear a grey suit, so that determined our first 3 colors. When it came to the accent color, I was leaning toward a plum and he wanted orange and the orange looked really good with the other colors (and is another color that looks really good against my skin). We just needed to find a shade that harmonized well. We ended up with cream and grey and periwinkle and tangerine. Nothing like what I would have originally picked but I LOVED the final effect.

Pick colors that you love that also make your skin glow. Burgundy and lavender are two really different color pallettes and seasons and vibes. I would think that one of those will really pop for your complexion and the other will look nice but maybe not as striking. Go with the most striking one. You won’t regret it.

Definitely agree with looking at Pinterest and also if you plan to have bridesmaids what colors will look better on them.

We went to Home Depot, grabbed every paint color swatch that stood out to us, took them home, spread them all out on the floor and just started playing around. Ended up making our own color scheme from that. I personally found Pinterest too restrictive and I felt like I was seeing the same 3 color schemes over and over. Our colors are a deep plum and navy blue, accented with a light blue green, antiqued gold, and cream.

Two years is a long time. I would not worry about anything except the lightest of musings at this stage .

nikkibee23 :  If you love both I would pick based on what flowers will be in season where you live and what colour best matches your venue.

nikkibee23 :  Check out https://www.design-seeds.com/

You can search by your colors (burundy or lilac) or by collections (other factors like seasons etc)

You could also decide to include both colors. If you look at a lilac bush before the flowers are fully open, both colors are present.

You have gotten some great advice here, but I thought I would chime in! I love Navy, and my husband does as well, so he always envisioned a navy suit, while I knew my bm’s would be in navy dresses. There are a lot of color palettes out there with navy as the main color. Since we got married at the very beginning of spring (late March) we choose to go with more springy colors. There was a lot of navy and pink and while I loved them together, pink wasn’t really my color. But I love rose gold. My ring was rose gold, I love the way metallics popped off of the navy so I asked my husband how he felt about navy and rose gold? He loved it! I had an idea in my head, but there is not a lot of navy/rose gold color palettes out there! So I kinda had to put it together myself (and cheat with some shiny pink here and there!) and it turned out great!

So really just go with your gut! See what is out there on pintrest and what you are more drawn to, and think of what the weather/season will be when you are getting married. We got married in late March, and were hoping for more of the trees to be in bloom (usually they are), but it was a pretty late/cold/snowy winter here! Luckily the Navy/Rose Gold would have been fine in any season! If trees will be in bloom around your date, I would lean towards the lighter, spring colors. Embrace the beauty around you! If things will still be pretty bare, and any outside pictures will need to be done in front of evergreens, go with the burgundy. It will be really pretty! Here are our navy/rose gold with how our park looked at the end of March!

You can look around generally, but if I was you, I’d hold off on any final decisions until your bridal party is set so that they can be consulted. After all, they are the ones who will be wearing and keeping the dresses. I’d also wait until you have a florist lined up who can tell you what is and is not available on your date in terms of flowers, what goes with the location etc.
