As alike/different as he is comfortable with!  🙂  It’s his wedding too!

My husband wore a full suit in navy while the groomsmen wore navy blazers and khakis. I personally love the look of the groom standing out from the rest of the men. We toyed with the idea of him wearing a grey color suit, but ended up finding we liked this option the best. 🙂

I agree with alittlerusty, I love the look of a groom wearing something different. As long as it doesn’t clash with the groomsmen, he should get to wear what he likes! My husband wore the same shirt and tie, but a brown suit he loved and wanted to purchase, while the groomsmen rented tan suits.

@Take The Reins: My husband was just like your FI! He insisted that they all had to have the same suit.  So we also played with vests and ties for color differences.  Our colors were cobalt blue and apple green, so we had our Groomsmen in blue ties:

And Darling Husband wore a green/blue striped tie:

@Take The Reins: The groomsmen had black vests with the same texture as DH’s vest, and I’m drawing a blank right now to what that texture/print was…

I didn’t want to confuse you earlier, but we even had our officiant (a friend of ours) in a green tie to really tie it all together. You could probably even have your guys in purple and your Fiance in green or vice versa!
