Bees, you’ll be hearing a lot more from me I’m afraid. Hoping I can throw myself on your combined mercy for help with colours and styling.
My fiance and I are looking to get married in April 2014 and in the new year are going to begin our search for a date, venue and style. I understand after asking around these are 3 very important things to get sorted. Date so that obviously we have to work towards, a venue to host the big day, and then a style so we know what sort of venue we are looking for.
We both have so many ideas. We love the idea of wildflowers playing a central role in the decoration, just not too brightly coloured. So instead of colour coordinated flowers, we’d have mismatched ones. Bit like this maybe?
And we both know that although we want something quite small and intimate (no more than 50 guests – closest friends and immiediate family), we do want it to be traditional. We’ve spoken about getting married in a small castle then having a double decker london bus take our guests to a village hall done up with bunting, a massive buffet and relaxed atmosphere. We both love the idea of just chilling out with everyone, having a nice time, eat, drink be merry etc!
We both prefer more casual dresses like the one these lovely ladies are wearing… My fiance is undecided if she will wear a dress and may also wear a suit. The thought of her in a dress is amazing though. She’d probably wear something like this first one, and myself something like the second.
But how do you even begin to draw a colour scheme and style out of this? Can I call upon the bees for inspirational pictures and ideas? I love greyish blues and lavenders because they remind me of my home in Scotland. I also love natural greens and creams. We don’t want too overpowering a colour scheme and also aren’t planning on having bridesmaids – just a maid of honour and a best man, and possibly at a stretch a “best bird”. We thought of jarsof honey as favours to go with the spring time setting, but other than that, I believe the phrase “pissing mindlesly into the wind” comes to mind… 🙁
Bees unleash your ideas for colour schemes, styles and general ideas on me! Think delicate, English and lady like. 😀
