BeeMysterious :

Yes, it’s an amethyst. Purple is my favorite color so it was destined to be part of my engagement ring or wedding band 🤗. I love seeing all the variety of stones since it’s awesome to see how many different colors various stones comes in.

elderbee :  Thank you! It is a natural emerald.  I’ve always dreamed of having an emerald engagement ring, and was willing to deal with the high maintenance nature of it.  FH made my dream come true! (He went shopping by himself but I had sent him various rings, including mine, that I loved)

BeeMysterious :  I am pretty careful about taking it off when handling anything that isn’t gentle soap and water, but that’s because I’m kind of paranoid about breaking down the oils.  I’ve knocked it good a few times and have had it checked out afterwards and it has been ok, but I really don’t wear it when I’m home or doing anything outside the norm of working/running errands (this is just personal preference though, not due to fear of hurting the stone).

I know there’s a chance I’ll have to replace it in the future, but that’s why we have a care plan.  But I really hope it’s not for a long time because I love the deep green color mine has. I feel like if someone educates themselves about the nature of the stone they picked then it’s really nothing to fuss about.  Even diamonds can chip!

I LOVE this thread!! Every ring shown here is beyond gorgeous, and it’s fun seeing all the different colors of gemstones, as well as the different color combinations between gemstone and metal.

I have become obsessed with colored gemstones over the last year. So much so that I even started buying some loose ones here and there, whenever I see something that strikes my fancy and is within my budget.

London Blue Topaz in 14K rose gold.

London Blue Topaz and Amethyst set in rose gold. I think it’s 14K, but I’m not sure. My husband ordered it from Gemvara.

Yellow Sapphire set in 14K Antique Yellow Gold.

Purple Spinel set in 14K rose gold.
