BeeMysterious : Thanks so much for your kind words. I always thought I was a “diamonds only” gal. Not that I don’t love diamonds, because I do! But I always thought I would only want “wedding jewelry” with diamonds. Over the last year, I realized a lot of this was due to hearing my whole life how diamond was expected or the “correct’ stone for engagement and wedding jewelry. It kind of worked its way into my subconscious until I thought this was my own feeling. This probably makes no sense — ha, ha!
Anyhow, over the last year, I’ve realized I’m thrilled with colored gemstones in my wedding and anniversary jewelry. I still adore diamonds, but there is probably no going back from colored gemstones for me. The only bad thing is that I want so many rings in so many different colors!! Ha, ha!

I also have an emerald!
I specifically chose a lab grown stone so I didn’t have to worry about oils or unknown fissures. I don’t baby it at all and so far so good 🙂 Green is my favourite colour and emerald is my birthstone so it wasn’t a hard choice for fiance to make.
I’m so glad emeralds are getting some love on this board

Love this thread and all the rings on it! Engagement rings that incorporate gem stones are so unique!
Here’s my set. Engagement ring is a round diamond surrounded by a halo of sapphires and wedding band is alternating diamond and sapphire eternity band.

khurm : So pretty! Where did you find your band? I debated between sapphire&moissy or moissy for my band, since my ring is sapphire with white sapph halo. I opted for the latter but I do love the look of yours!

adreamdeferred : Thank you! I found my band at the same local jewerly store where my fiance bought my engagement ring. I love your set and I think you made the right choice for the band!

I don’t have any photos of my ring after doing a clean up of my computer (so much random stuff!!). But this is the ring I got https://www.gemvara.com/jewelry/ionia-ring/princess-black-onyx-sterling-silver-ring-with-ruby/g8p2x
It’s silver with an onyx and 4 little rubies.
And my wedding ring is rose gold with one little ruby flush set. It’s a simple set in that it doesn’t sparkle or shine a ton, but I think it’s so unique in the way it looks and it means a lot to me. It definitely fits way better than a diamond ever could.
longtimemrs : I don’t know if I’ve mentioned this before, but your gemvara ring was second in the running for my engagement ring. I went back and forth so long before finally deciding on the one I ended up with.

bumblebug : Awww! That’s so neat! It can be hard to decide on which is the right setting, especially on that site. They have so many great choices. I’m happy you found the one that is perfect for you!

BeeMysterious : Your ring is amazing!!! This is my OEC color changing sapphire. It changes from blue purple in the sun to bright purple indoors and then completely green in the shade.
I’m sorry about the size I tried to make them smaller! All of the rings on here are so gorgeous. Hopefully even more people will post!
