We are getting married this October and our theme is fall/rustic. We have booked the venue and they have the option of chair covers & tablecloths in black, ivory or white I just can’t decide what colour to go with? We love pumpkins, wood/birch & lanterns. Our colours are dark purple/eggplant(bridesmaid dresses) & accents of gold. Any ideas would be helpful.

Ivory is always nice, and goes with everything. We opted for ivory ourselves and loved it 🙂

red21 : I think ivory will be nicer than stark white with the colors you described. I’ve seen some beautiful tablescapes with black too, but it might be a lot with the chair covers.

red21 : Of the colors available to you, I would choose ivory or white. You could choose to use a colored napkin. They are not very expensive if you end up buying your own.
I would take a serious look at the chairs (maybe post a pic here?) before I used chair covers. They tend to overwhelm the decor in a sea of white or ivory. You never see chair covers used other than at a wedding, even at the most formal of banquets or dinners.
There are so many options for centerpieces. You could use a white pumpkin (which are really off white) and purple flowers
spray paint craft pumpkins in the colors of your choice
or use a lantern with your colors

I would personally go black, I think it would be eligant with Aubergine and gold

Ivory is always elegantly simple. Plus you can add accents of your colors (centerpieces, napkins, etc)
Our colors were plum/eggplant purple and sage green and ivory was PERFECT. (pic attached-the colors were a bit darker than they look here….was just so SUNNY lol!)
PS – Chair covers always look odd and overwhelming to me. Do you have an option to leave them out (unless they’re steel folding chairs or something). Just my opinion
