What’s up, Bees? I have a basic question with a not-so-basic answer, so I figured I’d ask the Internet! 🙂
I am Brazilian. Fiance is ethnically mixed-Chinese, but identifies strongly with his New Orleanean culture (which really isn’t that much different than latin culture–lots of alcohol, lots of fried food, lots of bright colors, and lots of parties!! LOL). I guess I was wondering what elements of what culture to bring into the whole affair.
Food would be pretty easy–jambalaya, caiprinhas, tri tip, boudin, etc. But there are a few other things that I’m still stumped on.
J loves New Orleanean jazz. I’d love to have a band play during he cocktail hour and then when everyone sits down to eat play some bossa nova. Maybe at one point during the night before we start dancing to more mainstream music have some samba dancers?
I guess I don’t know what else to include…any ideas? We’re in the VERY EARLY STAGES of planning, so anything would be helpful. 🙂
