I moved into my apartment in March and decided to hold off on getting internet until my SO moved in because he would need it for school. To answer some questions that might be asked:
-Yes, we have to get Comcast. That is the provider that my building uses.
-We are trying to find the cheapest thing possible. We are going to split it but really don’t want to pay more than $30 a month total.
-We already have a modem and a router that’s compatible with Comcast.
-We do not need to bundle because we don’t need phone or cable.
Anybody have something similar to this that they would recommend/warn me against?

We are in the exact same situation and had to go with performance internet for 29.99 for the first 6 months, but like $50ish after that. All the cheaper options were really awful, just so much slower that it wasn’t worth it. We got no other services and have our own modem also.

In my area, comcast Internet is like $60 on its own but you can get cable and Internet for $70 if you bundle so that’s what we’ve been doing even though we barely watch tv. They pretty much won’t sell you just Internet at a just Internet price because they want you to buy more services :-/

@mrsSonthebeach: That’s what I was thinking about getting since our lease is up in 8 months anyway, and if it gets to be too much when the price spikes, we’ll just cancel it.

LOL I was just talking to my friend about this minutes ago. He works for Comcast he said 3mp internet is cheapest $30 and you can get that with basically cable $20 for the cheapest deal. Even internet alone is more.
