Hi bees…wondering if any of you are having an outdoor wedding where it will be getting dark about 1/2 way into the reception? I want to have candles but don’t want to light them at the beginning (when people are on the other side of the hosue for cocktail hour) and then they’d be out by the time its actually dark.
Was thinking of having a pack of match with a little note about “lighting our fire”…with the idea that someone at each table would light the candles. We won’t have “staff” at the reception and it might be odd to have a party member going around to light them all.
Thoughts? What are you doing?
Thanks!!

Leaving matches with a note sounds cute! My only concern would be children having access to them. Would you be able to ask someone to take on the responsibility?

You could use the same idea but use disposable barbeque lighters. Children don’t usually have the physical skills to operate those.

@jjmomma: adult-only wedding so no issues there and over half of the guest will be firefighters (or their wives) so was thinking of making that part of the note 🙂

@meraj081: I think that’s a cute idea especially considering the firefighters!
