I’m thinking about getting ballroom dance shoes for my wedding day… thinking they will be more bearable for all 12 hours of the wedding day. I hate the idea of taking shoes off, or changing into flip-flops, which are tacky and not tall enough in height for my dress length. Does anyone have experience with ballroom dance shoes? I am thinking about getting these http://www.danceshoes4u.com/92012_42_2008_stephanie_ballroom_shoes_pro.htm

I’m not sure if all ballroom dance shoes are like this, but the ones I’ve seen are like suede on the bottom so they might be really slippery.
The ones I’m getting are wedding shoes, designed by a pro dancer and based off ballroom shoe design, they’re supposed to be super comfy. The designer’s called Angela Nuran. I should be getting them by next weekend, so I can give a real testimonial of them then 🙂
Here’s a link if you want to check them out
I got mine from recycledbride.com for about 100 bucks off.

@Butterbee:thanks for the tip! I read a few posts about Angela Nuran’s shoes shortly after posting my own comment, so I’m starting to look into them. Let me know how they fit and feel on your feet! Do they fit large or small? Also, do you know if they’re all dyeable? I need ivory. Looked on recycled bride and only found white in my size.

@amarie.35: I just got the Astoria 3 1/2 inch in ivory from myglassslipper. The white ones (maybe the ivory, too, I forget) are dyeable, and the ivory had a note in the box that it can be darkened if it’s not the right shade. Though I compared it to my ivory dress swatch and it matched really well.
I usually wear a 6 1/2 wide, so I ordered in the 6 1/2 because the straps can be adjusted wider or narrower. They’re on the small side – if they were any smaller in length I’d have to consider sending them back.
They need a little breaking in, but I think that’s mostly because I’m not used to the height. They are SO cushoined, though. I felt kind of floaty with all the padding under my foot.
