The most comfortable shoes IMO are Qupid 5.25″ platform pumps or Nine West 3″ heels.

Do you have an adjustable bustle that you could tie up higher when you switch shoes?

It really wasnt’ a problem for me when I went from my pumps to flats, but my BFF did the same and she ripped her dress when she accidentally stepped back on it. 🙁

If you are going to try and break in your ceremony shoes, I would recommend standing still in them as long as possible, I wore mine around the house loads before the wedding, but I was not prepared for standing still in them, for the ceremony, standing talking to people, getting pictures done etc…. I was in my converse by the time we got to the first dance as my feet were killing me, have worn them since on a night out no problems, just the standing around thing that hurt 🙂
