It depends if you want a dressy pair or a casual pair?  I personally love Birkenstocks, but some people wouldn’t wear them.  Or Chacos.

My favorite ever are Rainbow flip flops. I went through two pairs walking all over campus in college. They are splurgy for me, but I’m saving for a new pair for the honeymoon.

My friend and I both have last summer’s version of this sandal in the gold color (don’t laugh, they sell it on hsn!) and it is our most comfy pair. It’s super lightweight and the leather is very soft. The straps around the front run a little tight, so you might consider order 1/2 size up. They go with anything so they’re perfect for travel. I wore mine all over Greece for 2 weeks and never got a blister.

I have a pair of Clark sandals that are comfortable, also (really spendy) I love Cydwoq.

I’ve gotten some great sandals from The Walking Company. They were a bit pricey, but super comfortable and lasted for several years.

Any sandals by Teva or Merrell. Do you guys have Urban Trail in Alberta? They’ve got lots of options there!

Clarks have “Unstructured” soles for their sandals which are so super comfy.

Chacos for casual. J-41 (now Jambu) or Born for dressy.

I recently went on a summer program to China and did A LOT of walking.  While I almost bought some birks, I opted instead to buy a pair of reefs and a pair of crocs (sounds lame right?).  Aside from the goofy and colorful shoes that Crocs offer, they do have some classier looking ones.  I bought a pair of these in black http://www.crocs.com/crocs-patricia/10386,default,pd.html?cid=22H&cgid=women-footwear-sandals and no one could tell what brand they were until they leaned in to see the brand on the strap.  My mom also bought these at the same time and has worn them to Vegas twice, and she had no problems walking up and down the strip.  While the reefs are definitely cuter and go with more outfits, the crocs were much much comfier.

Anything by Dankso! Ahhhhh….. Well, not their heels, though. 🙂 I’m a nurse, and my Dansko clogs are so comfortable at work that I bought a pair of sandals for walking around at the mall, amusement parks, vacations, etc. and I’ve never regretted it. I wear them ALL the time.

I second the vote for Born but you can get it cheap at DSW through the b.o.c. by Born line. I have a pair with a leather flower on it and it’s both comfy AND cute. I wear them everywhere!
