Wooo! Mocked up a test run of the boutonnieres. Fiance really wanted comic book roses for himself and the groomsmen. So since I had Fat Tuesday off, I busted out the hot glue and old comics to see if I could make this. I’m really proud of how it turned out.
I am not much of a DIY Bride so these made me especially happy when they turned out so pretty.
For the ones used in the wedding we’re going to buy 7 of the same comic books so that the roses will come pretty close to matching.

Olgarie: Haha, awesome! I wasn’t sure what was going on in the first pictures but duh, that’s because they were undone. The finished product looks great!!

They turned out great, good job!<br />My fiance is a comic book collector, so while he would think these are really cool, he would also probably cry at the same time knowing comic books have been cut up hahaha.

whoa_its_ash: june2017bride: We used crap comics that had like covers torn or aren’t worth anything. They were actually ones that I bought for our first date to make him comic book light plate covers.
Fiance has a huge collection too. OMG! I cannot imagine what would happen if someone dug through those to cut them up.

Phew, okay, he wouldn’t mind quite so much if they were torn up already then.
Actually, we have 3 comics in bad shape that he put aside for me to do some sort of art with, just haven’t gotten around to it yet.
I would love to see photo’s of them on the guys later.

I love these! I’ve been trying to see how I can incorporate comics into our wedding (I am a HUGE X-Men/Avengers fan), but my Fiance isn’t as into it as I am.

marylandbee: You could always make a few to stick in your bouquet. That would be adorable.
