@roxy821: Excellent 2 cents. I don’t think we’re going to have a formal one but as we’ve got a camcorder we’re going to ask people to take snippets throughout the day, just so that we’ve got something.

I knew we would definitely have a videographer, most of my married friends loved watching the video after the wedding, they got to really relive all the moments since the day goes by so fast

I love hearing this! Some people have acted like I’m a major princess for insisting upon a videographer, but I know it will be worth it. πŸ™‚

i feel the way that you did, but i agreed to having one at the ceremony only. Fiance has a crazy uncle that videotapes everything, i mean everything and it is kinda creepy (i think he ruined it for me) lol with that being said, he was already informed that he cannot bring his video camera.

But i am happy that you changed your mind, and hopfully i will be happy that i compromised too

I love hearing this, too!! We are spending over our initial budget to have a videographer but I just don’t want the day to come and go without getting it recorded on video. So many of my friends who have gotten married and didn’t have one have said that was their biggest regret from their wedding. It is going to be so worth it and I know that I will rewatch it many times on our anniversary and with our future children someday! πŸ™‚

@Gemstone: I got the same reaction from people! And yet after the wedding they were already requesting copies when we got the video back, haha. . .

Gah…I really want one. They’re SO expensive in our area, so I just can’t find a way to make it work. I’ll probably just have someone close to us designated with the Flip camera, and will catch the vows, first dance and speaches. Then I’ll try and make my own video??

Wahh…I so want one ;(

I completely agree!!! We only hired a videographer 3 weeks before our wedding, and we were SO glad we did. We love love love our videos (I actually watched them again this morning before work, lol). I definitely think that if there’s room in the budget, couples should get one!

We set up a tripod for the ceremony, and I’m happy with it. We didn’t have money for a videographer, and this way we still got to see the important parts.

@napabridekelsey: Can your photographer recommend any videographers that he prefers to work with? Our photographer recommended one to us, and because they like to work together so often, the videographer gave us a nice discount. πŸ™‚
