I’m not going to slam you because I know what it’s like to be in the position of having to depend on others financially for reasons outside of your control. It sucks, a lot.

But I still don’t understand why you can’t continue trying for an internal transfer while applying for outside jobs with good wages and benefits. I had a similar situation with a job and I applied both inside and outside the company to every job I was qualified for.

it also sounds like your hours aren’t consistent. could you find a more flexible childcare situation so you can stay at home with her when you’re not needed at work and only pay for childcare when you are at work?

the wedding/commitment ceremony idea is just a bad one all around. If the name thing bothers you, just use his socially. I’m sure your daughter won’t notice.
