First Dance Song: The Best is Yet to Come by Tony Bennett

Favours: Chocolates in the shape of the Liberty Bell (our venue is across the street from the Liberty Bell)

DJ/Band/Ipod: DJ, piano player for cocktail hour

  • Wedding: October 2013

Wedding Date: October 5, 2013

Engagement Length:  18 months

Colours: Lavender, rose and warm grey (with olive accents)

Theme: Art nouveau/vintage glamour

Wedding Party(#s): 4 bridesmaids (3 best friends and FI’s sister), one best man (FI’s brother). Not decided if we’re going for ushers, yet.

Ceremony (where, time): House For An Art Lover in Glasgow, Scotland. Beautiful Charles Rennie Mackintosh (Glaswegian Art Nouveau artist and architect) designed building with matching decor.

Reception (where, time): Same venue

Dress Style: Frankie by Stephanie Allin with the Yasmin bolero

Hair/Makeup (Pro/DIY): Currently undecided. Tempted to do my own makeup but bridesmaids keen for Pro. A friend at work used to be a MUA, so if she gives me a good deal I might go pro. Similar for hair (I have pixie hair so no point in me paying for Pro for myself, but BMs all have long hair).

Honeymoon Location: Still very undecided. Current thinking is somewhere in Central or South America (it’s the one continent that neither of us have been to).

Flowers: Peonies and roses

First Dance Song: Again, very undecided. At the moment I’m most stressing about the music!

Centrepieces: Probably simple fishbowls with white roses/peonies

Food/Menu: The venue provides a full menu. We’ll likely go with soup started and chicken main. Wine on tables is provided, as is a champagne toast. Not decided on evening buffet.

Cake Flavour: We’ll likely go for a cake table. I’m keen to have lemon drizzle and maybe coffee and walnut. Fiance wants chocolate.

Favours: Honestly not decided if we’ll even have them. If we do they’ll be something consumable.

DJ/Band/Ipod: Bagpiper for the entrance. Pianist for during the meal. Ceilidh band followed by DJ for the evening.

Bachelorette (when/what): Letting the BMs plan. I’m keen for something low key, like renting a house in the country and going horseriding, followed by a girly sleep-over style party.
