I didn’t get married in the tropics, but I thought I’d give you some support. We had a destination wedding and that had a few family members upset at the time, but they’ve gotten over it.  We’ve been married a little over a year, and I don’t regret having a destination wedding one little bit.  It was the best decision for us, and we’re really glad we didn’t give in to any family pressure!

Congrats on your plans!  I hope you get some good advice about the heat!!!

My tropical wedding is in 3 months today so much fun planning. I offer this “dont worry about a  ting, every little ting is gonna be alright” that is what my wedding planner quoted me Bob Marley I love it, its my wedding motto now! Ahhhh the resentment, let it float over you and not impact on your bridal serenity. The parents will come round they just need to get over the fact it is different, give them a few days to mull it over & they will come round to your excitement level. We always knew doing destination is not convenient, cheap or easy for guests to come.

Congratulations!! Now the good stuff the dress, I have silk (breathable) very light weight flowy dress feels perfect allot of bridal shops put me in corset dresses & I couln’t breath and the fabric was way too heavy, if you are hot & uncomfy in the shop you are definately not going to be happy in the tropics,  bridesmaids wearing mid calf silk dresses and guests we have asked to wear “smart tropical” and let them know dress shorts and collared shirts would be appropriate for guys and summery frocks for the ladies, shoes optional.

Good luck shout out if you need any other advice. xoxo
