The table numbers are a really cute idea and I think your first dance sounds great! For your table names you could do really cute pictures with photo stills from the movies.

I’d suggest buying some flowers and trying to make a mock up of the centerpieces you have in mind and see. I think the centerpiece idea could be brilliant or a hot mess depending on execution etc.

@cirk:  Sounds fun! No different than someone having a Disney wedding IMO.

I think tables at wedding SHOULD reflect the couple’s personality.  I would go for it since you guys are so into it!

It sounds very you. It’s not what your family may picture, but it does sound like you’re making it wedding-appropriate while still having fun with a theme that means something your relationship.

Bottom line, it’s your wedding. Unless your sister/MOH is paying for it, it’s not really up to her. Tell her that you appreciate your input, and would like to continue getting her input, but that you really feel that the pixar connection really illustrates (pun kinda intended lol) your and your FH’s relationship.

Yeahhh….I know easier said than done. I’m really lucky in that I haven’t had any major issues with loved ones {attempting to} veto elements of our wedding, but we are still six months out so you never know. I got a lot of unsolicited advice when we first got engaged, and it bothered me because I’m very much a people pleaser– I didn’t want to tell well-meaning people “thanks but no thanks” because I was afraid to offend.

I’m wearing leopard print shoes with my dress, and I’m sure a lot of people will find it tacky. And I’m a little apprehensive about how guests will respond to a few of our non-traditional buffet choices (french fries and classy sliders, among other more common eats). But leopard print is SO me, and french fries are SO my fiance and I!

I say GO FOR IT! There is no reason why it needs to be tacky. Your centerpiece vision can very easily be made classy and not “cartoonish.” And your first dance is about you and your FH, your relationship, and your love for each other. And no one will forget it!

Adorable and even more-so because it has meaning to you. Sounds like your sister needs a little more fun in her life and to grow DOWN a bit 🙂

it’s cute – it’s you – go for it. the adults that work at pixar are taken seriously… why shouldn’t you be!? if people can’t get past your decor then that’s their problem. you two should be happy in your pixar world. i mean, how could anyone not be happy in a pixar world!?
