trust your own judgment. . .i really don’t think anyone else can tell you what gives you that ‘wow’ feeling. AND. . you have time!!! you have at least a few more months before you *have* to order a dress so don’t stress 🙂

Why don’t you try posting some of the pics on here and do a poll of to ask other bees which kind of dress looks most flattering to your body type.  I know I saw dresses in magazines that I was completely IN LOVE with but when I tried them on they just looked awful on me.  A dress that I never even thought would look good on me turned out to be the best fit!

Sorry you’re having to do this alone! Not to discredit your friends but sometimes being on your own is actually better as it’s really easy to lose track of your own opinion when other people are voicing theirs. I’ve seen many girls on here having dress regret because they got persuaded by friends and family into buying a dress that they didn’t really like themselves.

Many of the bridal salons I’ve been to actually limit the number of people you can bring along to 2, just to avoid having too many opinions confusing the bride.

Like someone else said, put some pictures and a poll here and you’ll get great comments and support.

i still have dress regret sometimes – finding the perfect dress is hard! sometimes you just have to suck it up and pick one you like enough – i almost would have prefered to go by myself, my mom loved everything which was no help haha

but dont worry yet, you still have alot of time to find a dress, keep looking and search wedding bee, there are soooo many dresses out there.

When you find the right dress, you’ll know it!  Keep on trying them on and don’t feel like you “have” to buy something right then and there.  Don’t let pushy sales people change your mind.  If you want opinions after you go in alone, bring some girlfriends that are local that you might bring to the wedding or ask us bees to help out.  We’ll help give you our opinions.

The biggest thing is just set aside lots of time to go in by yourself and try try try stuff on and don’t limit yourself to what you “think” you like.  Many brides get sucked into a specific style or shape they like and when they try it on, they hate it.  So pick some stuff off the rack you like and ask the sales girl to help you by pulling some picks she thinks would go well with your complexion/shape/venue, etc.

Although it’s probably less fun to shop without your maids or your mom, I think the PPs are right and that it will help you to find what you really want (rather than what people encourage you to think looks great). I went alone, once with a maid, once with my sister (MOH) and I went back to purchase my dress with my matron of honor after I’d thought on it a few days.  My mom wasn’t able to be there, but she was so excited, and she’ll get to help with shoes/accessories/etc, which are also very special. I hope that your next trip goes well! You never know when ‘the one’ will find you 🙂

Even though I love my dress, I do often think of other dresses.  I just have to forget about it and move on.

I love the fifth dress down on you (the lace one). I almost chose that as my own dress, actually, but went with a style that was more flattering on me. It looks awesome on you, though! I like the strap style on you better than strapless because you are petite, so I think it’s more flattering!

I like the last one the best!!  After that it would be the very first one you posted.

I love the strapless ones on you. I think in the strap ones, the dress is the focus instead of you. Over all, I think #2, 7 and 8 look the best! In case I counted wrong- I like all the ones with the beaded sash! But I may be partial since I have a beaded sash! They really show off your figure nicely!
