- Wedding: September 2011
So I am new here, and I would love to get some advice from “strangers” as I am having some second thoughts on my dress (which hasn’t been ordered yet, so no big deal just yet). I’m sorry if the story gets a bit long!
Way before I even thought I would get married, I would look at wedding dresses and I always imagined that my dress would have an empire waist, be very flowy, nothing big… Ball gown was pretty much out of the question, I’ll quote myself “I don’t want to look like a meringue”.
Long story short, I was looking at a few wedding magazines after getting engaged, and there it was, the Enzoani advert. Seconds later, I’m on the Enzoani website, and I see Fawn and just start drooling over it. Surprisingly, it’s a ball gown type dress.
Anyway, I went dress shopping yesterday, I knew the place had Fawn there, so I tried it on first, and of course I just fell in love with it. I tried about 6 others after that, and they all seemed just “blah”. My future sisters in law were there too and they also agree.
I come home, super excited, thinking that I found THE dress and tell my fiance about it. Well he was super excited too until I told him that the dress was “big”. He was like “oh it’s not something small and simple?, How on earth are you going to dance?”
Ok, I guess I didn’t think about that at the time…
Later in the evening, he told me that it was no big deal, that I should just get what I want, but he does want to be able to dance with me.
So now I’m concerned and don’t know what to do. I just love the dress and don’t really want to look around anymore, but I don’t think it’s possible for me to do anything else in it other than just stand there and look pretty 😛
Does anyone else have a pretty poofy kind of dress and is planning on dancing all night long?
It’s going to be an outdoor wedding (yes, on grass!)
Should I just ignore these concerns and go for it?
I’ll appreciate any advice! (buying a 2nd dress for the reception is not really an option)
