First time poster here!
For the longest time I have been dead set on “Concerning Hobbits” from Lord of the Rings as the song that my bridal party, mothers, grandmothers, and flower girl/ring bearer walks down to. But I’d like a song specificially for me, as the bride, to make an entrance to. I’m having trouble finding something that blends well with Concerning Hobbits however.
For the brides who have used Concerning Hobbits in their ceremony, what other songs did you use to compliment it? Since it’s only a 3 minute song, I figured you’d need at least one more to get through the wedding.

Do you have an easy way to show us that song, like a youtube link? I’m pretty sure its the one they play in LOTR around the hobbit village, but I’m not sure.
maybe one of the themes around elves?

Is this a themed wedding? Are there other elements of LotR in there? Does your processional need to be instrumental or can you allow vocals? Do you want to stick with a more movie soundtrack vibe?
I’m a big LotR fan, and when I was listening to concerning hobbits again, I automatically thought of Vitamin String Quartet, with the violin in there. If you’re not going totally themed, you might take a look. Here’s a song I’ll be using somewhere in my day:

Then there’s a cover they did of Bruno Mars: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MpqJjasrD7I
What about a track from the Fellowship soundtrack, May it Be?
That’s what I’ve got for now!

kpellien: Lol, I was picturing hiring actual hobbits for the procession. Or dressing your bridesmaids and grooms that way. To be honest I’m a little dissapointed that I was wrong.
That will be lovely, sorry I don’t have any suggestions, just a little laugh.

justwondering2015: Nope, not a themed wedding – we just wanted to change up the music a little.

. I’m aiming for just an instrumental. The tricky part about the LOTR soundtrack is that one part of a song may be totally gorgeous and then it’ll go into like a chase scene or drop down to being really slow and sad, haha.
Love the Vitamin Quartet! I’ll have to revisit their songs and see if any would work. Thanks!

Lindsey Sterling has a BEAUTIFUL violin/harp version of “A River Flows In You”. It is gorgeous!

kpellien: I also used Concering Hobbits 🙂 I wasn’t too worried about blending it, we just chose the songs that we loved and it worked well enough.
Our music was played by a harpist, flutist, and an oboist so they would definitely have added to the continuity of sound.
Just choose songs that you like and play around with it. See what sounds the best to you. It is your day and so the music is yours and your SO’s to choose.
Concerning Hobbits has a very upbeat, airy, and very joyful sound. It can have a classical-ish sound and so it could certainly mesh with other classical pieces if you’d like.
How is the music being played?

kpellien: Thank you! I don’t really remeber hearing much of any of it from nerves haha but I am told it was very nice.
Are you looking for traditional or untraditional music?
Here’s a list of more traditional processional songs that you could look through?
