I never know what to write in those either.  I usually google what to write in a condolence card …..  I just did now, and a ton of things came up.

Sorry to hear about Mrs. ______’s grandfather. You and your family will be in my thoughts/prayers during this difficult time.

I just say that I’m sorry for your loss and the family will be in thoughts/prayers/whatever.

Doesn’t need to be indepth or “personal”, just having a card shows them you care.
