Nope.. deff not just you!! The second I start talking about my wedding I just want to change the subject because I start to feel self-conscious. I never want to be that girl who goes on and on and on about colors and flowers and nonsense… Also it probably doesn’t help that I am the only one in my group of friends who is engaged (all others are single or just dating) so I actually feel GUILTY that I’m the one getting married.

And so, I turn to the hive when I am in need of gushing about silly wedding things… oh and my mom because she talks about it more than I do! 🙂

I feel awkward too when I talk about the wedding. Especially when we were in the process of trying to pick a reception venue and I had this weird feeling I would someone “jinx” us getting the place if I talked about it!

@millaybrowning: yes! i feel like i try so hard to not be that girl that goes on and on about her wedding that instead i get all awkward about talking about it. and i so don’t want to be a bother to my bridesmaids that i haven’t spoken to two of the 4 of them beyond short gchats since i asked them to be in the wedding. ha, i’m trying to be nice and i’m probably offending them. yeah, i’m crazy sometimes.

@Birdie Love: same! i still don’t even have our exact date and city in my WB profile because we haven’t signed a contract on the venue yet and i fear things falling through

Well…I’m not sure if I’m lucky or not, but the go-to topic of conversation among my SO’s friends’ wives is wedding stuff.  So as soon as I see all the wives they start asking me about how the wedding planning is going.  As I have very little in common with these women, I’m more than happy to discuss wedding stuff as a way to fill the conversation.  Especially since I work with all guys, and any mention of wedding stuff is generally met with a glazed over stare, unless the story is funny and/or embarassing.
