@TattedNYBride:  There were actually times when I was a kid and riding my bike out on the road and my shoe laces came undone and got tangled up in the peddles and I was literally stuck in the middle of the road until my parents came out to help me. So its actually not really an irrational fear. lol.

@wisher558:  I have a fear of drowning, any kind of MOVING water.  Including lakes, rivers, and the ocean.  When I was 15 I watched as my father almost drown in the Yuba River.  I won’t go into any kind of moving water.  Swimming pools don’t seem to bother me.

Birds.  Ick!!  I am terrified of birds.  Don’t matter what kind they are.  They are just creepy.

Sankes.  Any kind of snake!  Gives me the willies just thinking about it.

Katrina117 Yup (see my above post). I remember one time I was on a plane pacing near the bathroom when there was turbulence because I was SO afraid of the person next to me getting sick. I told the stewardess when she told me to sit down (it had been going on for hours, so they weren’t super adament about it). I told her my fear and she said “that’s stupid, what’s the big deal, my cat throws up all the time?” I wanted to hit her. You have to explain that you have panic attacks, and even then, if someone has never had a panic attack, they just think you are being hyperbolic (oh no one likes it when people throw up).

It’s really debilitating though! I’ve done my very best to no longer have full-blown panic attacks when others do it, but I remember avoiding public transport, amusement parks, and ANYWHERE where children might be. I worry about having children too…I just pray they are like me and have strong stomachs, or the sense to wait til dad gets home.

@LMD84:  so… I typed that yesterday afternoon. An hour later I leave work. As I’m crossing a bridge, yup, spider! I freak out, swerve, pull into a parking lot, get out my passenger door and come around to the driver window to investigate. After 10 mins of staring at it (and sweating, obv) I recruit a passerby to kill it for me. Omg. Near death experience. We need help.

@littlemisst08:  +1 on this! I do get anxious. Even if I am indoors I do not want to be around an open window or even one that doesn’t have blinds or curtains. Ugh. It has gotten a bit better but its still pretty bad overall lol.

@wisher558:  I’m absolutely terrified of whales. and I have a true anxiety disorder related to throwing up. I used to take medicine for it, but I stopped. The whales is just my own weird thing, though. no medicine for that.

I get anxiety over pretty much everything; it’s actually kind of exhausting. Spiders, large dogs, snakes, sharks, brake lights (crashed my car 7 years ago), heights, falling down stairs  (seriously?)… the list could go on. I always think about the worst possible scenario and try to have a solution (eg, if there was a shooter at work, home, store, movie theater, etc., what would I do?) Yeah, I’m weird 🙂

The dark ocean. It might as well be outer space to me. The thought of being alone with all these creatures scares me to death (I was raised on a island BTW- wierd, huh?)

and anything with long scary hair. Or thinking about anything poking at my eyes. This pictures sums it up:

I am cursed with irrational fears!!!

I have a fear of bugs too..particularly cockroaches. I remember one of my first nights living at college there was one in my dorm room (maintenance had just sprayed so they were everywhere for a few days). I called my parents in hysterics because I was sitting on my bed and wouldn’t come down. They were trying to calm me down and told me to hit it with a shoe. There was no way I was getting close enough to hit it with a shoe, so I started throwing shoes at it from the bed. I ended up hitting it, but I still didn’t want to pick it up to move it so I sucked it up with the vacuum cleaner :-/

I’m terrified of larage bodies of dark, murky water. If I can’t see what’s in there, I imagine it’s something monstrous.

@IreneGoodnight:  We have the same fear! I always imagine something huge and terrible is hiding in dark water. I feel the same way about lakes.

@wisher558:  You don’t wann come to my house then, I have lovebirds and I frequently let them come out and fly around, lol! They seem to freak out lots of people.

My irrational fear is wasps, hornets, bees…bees are not as bad because they don’t purposely single me out and chase me around balling like a blithering idiot. Not cute. If I ever got stung I’d probably have to be sedated for a few days.

@Schatzie821: …and also clowns.

I’m a mess.
