There was something about the dress that just didnt do it for me. You’re right, I feel like it’s a glorified sundress. I could see myself wearing something similar to a nice winery outing or reunion of some kind, but not a wedding. This is just my opinion. You can find something ‘better’ even at a low price. Keep looking!

I don’t like how the torso is so plain, then the two ribbons at the waist cut you off horizontally.
For 3-400, you can get a different dress from DB that has that flowy skirt in your 2nd and 3rd photos. Look up “ruched chiffon dress” on their site. I’d return the dress, try out the salon, find out how much alterations would cost, then go back to DB if need be. They are constantly having sales.

Agree with other posters that it’s lovely but you can do better 🙂

It’s a lovely dress, and I personally would be happy to get married in something that simple at a micro wedding, but that’s not really the point. This is YOUR wedding and YOUR dress, so if you’re not happy, keep looking.
One thing I did notice about that dress is that if you shortened it, you could rewear it. If you’re feeling bad about spending a lot of money on a one-wear dress, then maybe shop with an eye to altering it to wear again. That way, you can get to have a dress you like better, while feeling better about spending the money because you’ll get more than one wear out of it!

I actually was planning on doing that if I kept it! I could shorten it and wear it on my honeymoon!
im going to FaceTime my mom and get her opinion in the next coming days. I am leaning towards returning it. One thing important to me is having really nice wedding photos, and I worry that I would regret this dress

I love both of the other two dresses you posted. But also, we’re sharing our thoughts about these dresses because you are asking for feedback. Despite feedback you get from us or anyone else, remember that it’s your wedding, not ours. Wear what you love, whether it’s a casual dress or a high end beaded dress with train. There’s no rule about how fancy or formal you can or can’t go for a small wedding. My friends didn’t like my wedding dress but I did and still do. I have no regrets. My wedding was an extremely small church ceremony followed by a nice dinner rather than reception to celebrate. I went with an empire waist A line with tulle, no train. No poof and no train made moving around easier. I don’t know what my friends were expecting but I don’t care. The dress was what I wanted.

I would say if it doesnt give you that 100 percent feeling Its worth to keep looking. You might find another dress you love. Your wedding day is special, you don’t have to justify spending money on the dress, if you have the money find something you really love, you wont regret it. 🙂
All wedding styles are beautiful in my opinion, I love simple, I love glam, I had a tough time choosing my dress because I honestly just love many different styles but ultimately what mattered to me was does it feel like me? do I feel like a bride? Not anyone elses version of a bride. Do you imagine getting married in this dress? naturally? without overthining it?

I love this dress, but if you are having any type of second thoughts, its not your dress. You should return it, and its 100% okay to spend 1400 on a dress. Don’t feel pressured to like something just because of the price. You deserve to feel beautiful and bridal, even if your wedding is small.

The dress is beautiful and does suit you really well, the skirt is fantastic, but the bodice, I don’t know but something just feels a touch off. Maybe it’s that the bodice doesn’t feel delicate enough, with that beautiful flowing skirt? I think the dresses with lacey bodies someone posted up thread might work a little better.

Thanks for your suggestions!
I actually returned it, and have an appointment this weekend to try on dresses at a small shop that I was origionally supposed to have an appointment with back in March. (will be wearing a mask, following all guidelines placed by my state, practicing social distancing).
I will be trying on the 2 dresses I posed, and a few others, so fingers crossed I find something! 🙂
