I think people can be quite quick to jump down other people’s throats and comment in a nasty tone on threads like these. It’s easy to do when everyone is dehumanised behind a computer screen. From reading these posts it seems to me like the OP has had some struggles, whether it is mental health issues, like another poster suggested, or if she has something like Asperger’s, which might explain her apparent inability to read social cues. Either way, it is clear to me that this is someone who might need a reality check, yes, but is also a person who is in distress and struggling, and maybe a little compassion wouldn’t go amiss. Her actions weren’t right, but I do think that she is coming from a place of genuine hurt and confusion, and someone who really doesn’t understand why she is coming off wrong in this situation definitely does need kindness and help. I also don’t buy the trolling thing. I think it is a way to try to save face. I just think sometimes we all need to take a step back and realise there are actual people behind the usernames and people have a variety of issues and backgrounds and just be a little bit more compassionate.
