Okay so I’ve always thought that I wanted a fit and flare type wedding dress but when I went to try on for the first time I fell in love with the empire waist ballgown style. Everyone that was with me (including my consultant) told me that I had the figure for the fit and flare dress that I tried on. I decided to just wait on purchasing a dress. I really didn’t feel like a bride in the form fitting gown. My wedding is also going to be held outside so I feel like the fit and flare style may look better with the overall look of the wedding. Here are examples close to the dreses that I tried on. Any thoughts, opinions, and suggestions will be very much appreciated 🙂

its hard to say anything when there aren’t pictures of you in each dress. But I can tell you i was pretty convinced I would get a natural waisted ballgown and ended up with a very fitted dress. I think you should go with whatever you feel the most beautiful/bridal in- whatever that means to you! Just becuase you had an idea in your head doesn’t mean you have to stick with it. Good luck! let us know what you decide

too funny, i am facing the EXACT same issue. my girls keep pushing me towards fitted fit and flares… but I tried on a natural waist ballgown the other day for the first time and i fell in LOVE… i’m still trying to find the right bodice, but I think (about 80% sure) that I’m going to stop looking at fit and flares and focus on ballgowns. good luck to you! fingers crossed that everything works out for you 🙂

I went into the bridal store wanting a “fit and flare”. I have what my FH calls the “hourglass” figure, or whatever. ANYWHO… I tried on fit and flares, and lacy ones, and ball gowns, and cupcakes — and I said I would NEVER EVER get a “ball gown” or a “big poofy” wedding dress.I’ll be damned if I ddin’t walk out of there with a poofy, but fitted top part of the dress that I ABSOLUTELY LOVE. I just went in for my first fitting this evening and love it EVEN MORE.
((Time to tone these arms though)) (:
ETA – the first dress is beauiful!

Both dresses are beautiful. Just go with your gut.
