Cool! Glad to hear it 🙂
Cool! Glad to hear it 🙂
The heat from this thread is melting my monitor!
I’m not saying you can’t love animals if you’re a carnivore. I’m a carnivore! But if you do both love animals and eat them, I don’t see how it’s too much of a stretch to be concerned with animal welfare yet still believe that a woman has a right to choose what to do with a nonviable lump of cells in her womb.
It’s an apples and oranges comparison. You can’t even fix that without making it completely nonsensical: “If you were pro-life, but found you had a cat or dog growing in your uterus, would you still insist it was your moral imperative to carry it to term? If you aborted it, how would you reconcile that with your hatred of mass euthanasia?”
If anything, this only works in reverse: how can you be pro-life (any innocent life, no matter it’s nature, should be preserved) while eating meat/being against animal rights? But, as PPs have said, most people don’t see an embryo as “alive” so it is not a quandary. I am vegan but will still eat yeast, because even though it is alive in the technical sence it is not sentient or self aware.
I’m not sure anything will come of this thread.
Eh… I am all for People Eating Tasty Animals, but I do believe that even animals meant for eating should be treated humanly. And love when people freak out about hunting wild animals, they are treated and killed way better than factory farm animals! Bambi was happy to frolic in the woods, get shot and die quickly instead of languishing in a factory farm.
I also believe that a fetus (who By The Way has a heart beat starting at fetal week 5, just seven weeks from conception, so by the time a lot of women even realize they are pregnant, there is yes, a cluster of cells with a heartbeat) is something that should have way more rights than a cow or dog and I do find it sad that they are considered disposable by some people. It is always ironic to me that if a fetus is wanted and is naturally miscarried at 6 or 8 weeks it is a tragic thing that the woman lost her child. But when mommy doesn’t want that fetus in that same or later time period, it is her choice and just a group of useless cells. But that is just me.
This is too good.
Are people trying to prevent or promote animals from having abortions? I’m confused by this thread.
Wish I could help…but I am kind of confused at how animal activism and pro-choice are related.
