- Wedding: April 2014 - Courthouse
So we originally planned to do a courthouse wedding and I was set on it for a while and now I’m rethinking my decision. I imagine us getting married outside in our hometown and go to a little cool restaurant that my moms friend owns And having nice appetizers and just enjoying our company, and I will get to invite a few more people that I would like to. If we do a courthouse wedding it’s limited to just immediate family and friends and then i would have to pick some little country restaurant which really isn’t us. I think I was annoyed with wedding planning so I just gave up and said OK! Courthouse wedding it is! But that’s not what imagine:( were planning on April 25 to be our wedding day which is Arbor Day (were tree lovers!). I don’t know what to do:( I only have 3 months but know it can be planned In time.

@FutureMrsB123: We originally planned on doing a courthouse wedding with a nice dinner following and a 4 day weekend to stay in a hotel for the honeymoon with spa and dinners. Now we are doing our wedding at his families vacation home. The more I think about it I would rather just do the courthouse wedding for the two of us than anything else. Im just done with the planning and having to deal with details and people for it. I’d just see what kind of atmosphere you want at the wedding.

@FutureMrsB123: I went the courthouse route and it couldn’t have been any more impersonal & unromantic. BOOOOOoooo! Now I’m planning a vow renewal because I have had NoWedding celebration regret for 6 long years and it feels rather generic.
April is a nice weather month, not too hot or cold, perfect for outdoor, well– Depending on where you are. You could try to find a scenic tree nursery, in keeping with your Arbor Day date & adopt that as a theme? Or a nice park? Someone with a nice home who’s willing to host for you maybe? since it sounds like you’re sticking to a smaller event either way.
Imagine the rest of your ideal wedding day & get to planning! You don’t get a do over, this is your one chance. 🙂 Embrace it, frustration and all.

- Wedding: October 2013 - The Fox Hill Inn
@FutureMrsB123: What a friend of mine did was have a courthouse wedding midweek with just 2 friends there as witnesses (I think they did it Wednesday or Thurdsay?). Then on Saturday, they had a party at a local restaurant and had lots of friends there. It was a way for all of us to celebrate their getting married even though we couldn’t be at the courthouse. That seems to be a way to combine both your courthouse wedding and your new idea? No one says your party/”reception” has to be on the same day!
