I thought that I had found my dress. I loved it when I tried on the sample (pic 1 hopefully) but when I went back for the fitting, although the dress wsa lovely, I don’t think it fits that well anymore. They took it in a lot on the waist (I hadn’t meant to lose weight but my FI’s mum died a month ago so its been a bit stressful). I just hate the way it looks now and I spoke to the tailor who said that they had done all the could and that it is because i lost weight but that i can’t put any weight back on now because it won’t fit.
So i have been looking around and fell in love with jim hjelm 8962. Nowhere near me sells it and I don’t have time to get one anyway (wedding in September) so am thinking about buying a sample/preowned.
Just not sure what to do – don’t really want to buy two dresses, but cry every time i look at the dress which is supposed to be AFTER fittings.

So I think the dress looks beautiful on you – I really can’t see the problem?!? I think you might just be having common dress regret that way too many brides have!

I don’t know if it is maybe because you are farther away in the second pic so maybe the resolution isn’t as high or something but something does look “off” to me. Are you sure the is nothing the tailor can do to fix it? Or even maybe go back and come to terms with the new look? It by no means looks bad, you still look gorgeous in the dress, it just looks different and that’s to be expected when you loose quite a bit of weight.

I would definitely take it to another tailor for a second opinion.

I think you need to get yourself a new tailor girl! The second pic looks like it’s waaayyy too big – something a good seamstress should be able to fix! My seamstress told me she had taken in dresses by 3-4 sizes before, and it doesn’t look like you lost that much! It’s a lovely dress by the way, and you will look amazing when it fits properly – we are almost date twins (i am 17th) and I only just had my first fitting, so there should be plenty of time for you to get yours done!

I love the first dress, is that a Cymbeline Disco? I wanted to try that one on. I think it looks great on you! But maybe check with another tailor to get taken in more. I loovvve that dress though!

thanks for the comments
gizmo19 – yes it is Cymbeline
I do love the style just think that the dress looks awful now. The back is gorgeous, as attached, but the front just is not right. I have an appointment with another tailor tomorrow
still in love with the second dress though, just so confused.
