Regular poster going anonymous (not ready to announce to anyone that we are ttc and some family/friends use these boards)
I charted to avoid pregnancy for nearly a year and most months showed the same pattern- follicular phase temps between 97.4-97.8 with luteal temps between 97.9-98.6. Ovulation can be all over the place (range cd 12-29) but most often somewhere between 15-19. We started ttc last cycle but were unsuccessful in the first month. This month looked great (the best it’s been in terms of a strong opk, lots of ewcm, and good cervical positioning) but I’ve stalled out. Everything pointed to O but no temp spike. I know it’s possible to gear up to O and then not but I’m growing disheartened, especially after all of my fertility signs matched!
Has anyone seen anything like this? Is there anything that I should be thinking about asking my doctor? (Coincidentally I have an gyn app tomorrow).
Thanks!

Yeah I don’t see O either – looks like you geared up and didn’t. Are you stressed? Sometimes that will delay O.

knpswp : not particularly. I guess that the Christmas holiday came with a fair change in routine, so maybe that?

I guess I’m also concerned because my temps are so high…that’s very abnormal for me.

It still could be too early to O maybe? Sometimes I wouldn’t O until CD20 or 21. Some people don’t O until even later. I would keep using OPKs just in case you get another positive.

Update and another question.
FF gave me crosshairs today but back on day 14, which doesn’t make any sense to me. Could anyone explain why day 14?
Im confident that I did ovulate (my charting signs, temp shift, and an ultrasound I had on day 17 that confirmed ovulation) but was surprised by day 14…hoping its later because that would have given us better timing.
Thoughts?
ktsteimel : I’ve definitely had o that late before. I feel like I should buy stock in opks!

I’ve had to manually adjust my O date on FF when they have gotten it wrong. Sometimes it picks a random O date for no reason it seems. But its good that you know for sure that you O’d CD17 based on an u/s so I would just override FF.

ktsteimel : I’m thinking that I ovulated closer to day 16/17. I’ve never manually changed my o date…I’ll have to look into that. Thanks!

ttcbee45 : ff is basing your O date off the opks and then assuming that you are a slow riser. Some women rise a lot slower, especially with a surplus of estrogen in your system.

beignetwife : thanks. I’m not typically a slow riser. Here is my chart from last cycle…it’s pretty typical for me. Do you have any suggestions of when I should adjust O date to? I have been charting for almost 2 years and this rise pattern is atypical so I’m pretty confused. I know I could just wait until a BFP or AF shows buttttt color me anxious 😉

ttcbee45 : it might be cd 16. Although cd14 is possible with fallback rise. When do you typically O?

beignetwife : anywhere from day12-day20. On average, I’d say 15-16 but it’s kind of all over the place.
