If you just got pregnant no it wouldn’t show up this soon. If you got pregnant somehow before you decided to TTC, then there’s a possibility you’re pregnant. Any “YES” means you could be and I would act accordingly (cut out alcohol etc), and make an appt with your OB

You had sex on Sunday and then tested 3 days later?  If indeed that test was positive then I can assure you that baby was conceived well before Sunday!

Am I missing something?

Implantation takes between 6-12 days.  Then you body begins producing the hormones after that.  The hormones need to reach a certain level before they can be detected with a test.  So it is actually truly impossible to have a positive test 3 days after conceiving.

readytobemommy:  Even if an egg was fertilized on Sunday, it wouldn’t have implanted by Wednesday, so you wouldn’t be producing the hormone that pregnancy tests check for.

Either you were pregnant long before Sunday or the test was faulty.

You could have bleeding that might seem like a period.  However, there is no way you convieved 3 days prior to a positive test and it is unlikely if you conceived a whole month prior that you would get two negative tests.  I think the positive is most likely the faulty test.

This doesn’t mean you weren’t successful on Sunday.  Test when you miss your period.

If you were pregnant when you got your “period”, you would be far enough along that all tests would be positive,  regardless of what time of day you took them. So the most likely explanation is you got a false positive.

I always forced myself to wait the full 2 weeks.  I wouldn’t let myself buy a test before then.
