trinity_542:  When was your lmp? Pregnancy is dated from the first day of your last period. However, clear blue digitals are actually calculated from day of ovulation as they are detected through hcg. It would be appropriate to get 1-2 weeks early on in pregnancy, around 4 weeks pregnant gestational age. When was your scan? Did you see a heartbeat? Generally you can’t see anything but an empty sac prior to 5-6 weeks and a heartbeat after 6 weeks.

The digital week estimators are notoriously wrong As far as week estimation goes as there’s a huge range. I wouldn’t put any stock into them. Go by the ultrasound.

knpswp:  I wouldn’t say they are wrong…. they go by Hcg values (1-2 weeks is under 200, 2-3 weeks is 200-2000, 3-4 weeks is over 2000). They are calculated by fetal age since you don’t produce Hcg until you have implanted, and based in “average” levels for that far along. So basically you add 2 weeks to whatever the test says for your gestational age.

trinity_542:  my last lmp was August 19 and I ovulated around sept 10. I’m about 7.5 weeks today based on O. the ultrasound should be within about a week of that to be considered “normal” is what the nurse told me.  I’d be a little concerned, but there’s nothing you can do but wait it out at this point. Good luck!

trinity_542:  Ok, so my LMP was 9/2 and I ovulated 9/13. I too had a bfp by 9/25 and unfortunately my pregnancy is ending in miscarriage. However your dates would be similar to mine and should be around 7 weeks now. If I were in your situation I would probably be concerned as well. Firstly, at 4 weeks it is highly unlikely you would see anything on an ultrasound. Generally speaking your Hcg levels have to reach a certain point before you can. Around 6-7 weeks you are able to see the sac, embryo and visual heartbeat. If you truly were 6 weeks at your scan (just based on your hpt results it seems like your dates are correct) then you should have been able to see more than the sac. I suppose it is possible that your UT was speaking fetal age in weeks but since I wasn’t there I can’t attest to that.

The clear blue, as I said in my first post, is solely based on Hcg. There are very wide ranges for this and while you assume it would say 3+ weeks if you take it a few weeks later, it might not be totally accurate in terms of dating your pregnancy.

I would ask about having betas done for peace of mind and possibly asking for another us to detect heartbeat.

Sending you positive thoughts and hoping everything turns out ok for you.

Did a doctor review your ultrasound and discuss it with you? I would request an hcg follow up and another ultrasound to check for progression. Sorry you are going through this.
