I will be getting in December and have chosen burnt orange/persimmon (the fancy name) as the color; however, I have no clue what other colors to combine with. I’ve been reasearching and have seen orange with fuchsia and lime green, which I really liked, but wouldn’t that be too “springy”. I’ve also seen it with chocolate velvet but wouldn’t want my wedding to have that autumn theme. I’ve have chosen that color since I was a teenager but now I don’t know what to do with it. Any advice would help!

what is the feel of your wedding? What are you other favourite colours?
Gray works with everything…of course I’m a bit partial to it.
Perfect Palette has some great suggestions: http://www.theperfectpalette.com/search/label/Burnt%20Orange

I’m doing forest green, gold and ivory with a burnt orange accent. I think that’s quite wintery!

@Lanegra: My first thought was “persimmon and pomegranate”. That sort of blood red + eggplant color + richness color. Think it would look very pretty.

Hmm.. my mind automatically went to Navy for some reason. I kind of feel like it would give the orange some grounding, and as much as I refuse to believe that any colours are ONLY for a certain season, seems wintery.

@SapphireSun: My mind went straight to navy too!
I also really like the pomegranate color suggestion as well. All of those with an ivory or cream as an accent color. I think that would be beautiful!

@SapphireSun: That’s a good suggestion, too. The pomegranate color screams winter to me for some reason… and get some rich cranberries to decorate with. Oh, and with the ivory suggestion jalaamarie made… OOF! I LOVE IT! 🙂

white, silver, icy blue…i’m picturing a winter scene with a persimmon tree covered in fruit (since they bear fruit later in fall, it’s not uncommon to find a snow-covered tree still with fruit on it).

I would do olive green with hints of maroon and dark wood brown.

@FrozenFeet: I love the persimmon/pomegranate idea!

Im thinking a lighter blue, blue and orange being complementary colors will look great together but two full hued colors like navy and persimmon might be a bit loud, with silver and ivory. get some color swatches of fabrics and ribbon to put next to each other and see what looks good to you.
