Connor or Khabib ?????

The postfight chaos was crazy and very entertaining. It’s bad enough that Khabib jumped into the crowd attacking Connor’s team (and I’m sure assaulting bystanders in the process), but for 2 of Khabib’s guys to jump into the ring from different angles and take turns sneaking Connor was plain disgusting. It was clear that Khabib orchestrated the sneak attack with his team prior to the fight. There were kids in the audience (which is crazy to me), so someone could have easily gotten hurt very badly.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out. Will Khabib and his friends be able to get their visas renewed? Will the athletic commission even let them fight in the state of Nevada again? Thankfully that spectacle didn’t catalyze a series of brawls in the audience, which would have been horrible.  His behavior just didn’t reflect that of a champion.

All of that said, Khabib did dominate the fight and deserves the win. However, I’m not sure what repercussions his actions will have.

kawood0618 :  I feel the same way. My jaw hit the floor when it happened, I couldn’t believe Khabib’s recklessness. Good thing they had extra security last night! Also really surprised that Conor isn’t pressing charges.

Kslim13 :  In the post fight press conference he said it was because Conor made comments about Khabib’s Dad, religion and country. However, his message about wanting to respect the game by not shit-talking is completely lost after the way him and his team acted.

I dont condone what Khabib did at all, but not faulting him either. Conor has spent months trashing his religion, his family, threw a metal dolly at a bus Khabib and his team were on and injured innocent fighters not involved in their feud…it has waaaaay crossed the line. Khabib has been put together this entire time and I think just lost control in the heat of the moment. Was it right? No. But it’s no worse than Conor’s bullshit. He literally got on a plane, flew to where Khabib was and attacked his bus with a metal dolly!!! It was so calculated. He had no repercussions with the UFC and they used it to promote this fight/to their advantage. A wrong for a wrong isnt okay. But I’m tired of everyone making it seem like Conor is some poor victim.

BeepBopB00p :  Back to say that I am not a fan of Conor. I think the way he acts is ridiculous and was glad to see him tap. The bus incident and his comments took it too far but sadly Khabib couldn’t maintain his composure. TBH I can understand why Khabib lost it but his teammates going after Conor was nuts.

peekaboobs :  seriously. It is an assault charge which Khabib will likely get from hitting that guy in the crowd. Khabib’s three mates that attacked Conor inside of the ring were fellow UFC fighters and have ruined their careers because they will not be allowed to fight for that organization any longer and they were on the roster. Conor is not pressing charges for being jumped in the ring. Khabib however is under police investigation and likely going to have assault charges pressed against him, he also is not going to be allowed to fight anymore and the title of champion has been stripped from him. He also lost his purse, so he is not going to get paid and they gave Conor the money they were supposed to give to Khabib so instead of Khabib getting paid $50million he lost everything and now Conor is champ and got $100million for that PPV fight. Crazy. Don’t know why he did that. He won and Conor got worked during that fight. That should have been a smug enough feeling. Everything else was unnecessary and tarnished what should have been a great win.

SomethingBleu :  agreed. But I just read that shortly before the fight (maybe a day or 2), Conor suggested some conspiracy theory that someone in Khabibs team was involved in 9/11. Tired of his racist bullshit. He deserved it

missmonroe711 :  he hasnt been stripped of his title or lost his money. They are holding his money pending investigation. Dana said he “could” get stripped. But they wont do it. This BS “boohoo I’m so disgusted” show is ridiculous. Dana looks traumatized like there was a shooting or something in his interviews. Hes eating this shit up. This was a record fight because of the hype they got from Conors assault in April. They will slap him on the wrists, give him fines, maybe an assault charge he will plea down like Conor did (Conors visa is totally fine and he had a calculated attack that seriously injured people). He might be suspended but Conir already asked for a rematch and the UFC wont turn that down. Too much money

While I don’t agree with what Khabib and his team did after his win as it could seriously jeapardize his relationship with UFC and fans and I wished he could have handled it better and just walked off with his win – beating Connor in the ring is the best revenge – I am glad he beat Connor good!  Connor totally got his ass kicked and I’m glad someone showed him he’s not king. I’m glad he was put in his place during the fight.  I can’t stand the guy – Khabib is a better fighter.  But wish Khabib hadn’t done what he did after winning.

So, I have no idea what any of this is about cause I don’t watch UFC (this is UFC right??) but like, I’ve been watching professional wrestling for 20+ years and I’m just wondering if this is scripted? Like, I just pretty much assume everything is scripted cause I’ve watched wrestling for so long.

slomotion :  it isn’t designed to be scripted, all fighting that is formally organised is true mixed martial arts between highly skilled individuals. However when Conor McGregor is involved, I have come to expect some sort of theatrics 🙄

I read connor has been paid, while khabib payment has been withheld till further notice, and he will probably be fined, suspended and lose the title. Meanwhile khabib is still gloating on social media about the chaos, i wonder if someone has informed him about the money he just lost, along with everything else he will probably lose in the coming days…

he’s definitely not the brightest lightbulb in the room….
