I’m getting married next summer and I thought I’d start looking around for some wedding dresses. I’m finding it really difficult to find a style I’m comfortable with here in Los Angeles. I’m very conservative in my attire on a normal basis and I would prefer to find dresses with long sleeves. But I’m not sure where to start looking. If someone could kindly suggest places to check out Id really appreciate it.

@Adeena08: pretty much wherever you go you can add elements. For example a long sleeve bolero can be added to any dress to bring an air of sophistication and modesty 🙂 just let the places know what you want…everything can be changed to be perfect for you! Happy shopping…

@Adeena08: Perhaps a seamstress could sew dresses for you that were more modest? I’m not muslim, but I’m not comfortable with the current styles of wedding gowns that are strapless or that have straps but expose a lot of skin. I purchased a vintage bridal pattern tha was uncut from etsy and my mother is sewing my gown so that I have long sleeves and only a moderate amount of cleavage.
Another option might be to look into possibly a trip to Utah to the Salt Lake area. Members of the mormon or LDS faith have rules about modesty and you might be able to find more modest attire there.

Try this link. What price range are you looking for? Also, I’m with Cappugcino..I grew up in Utah and have seen some gorgeous long sleeved wedding dresses. Many local stores there have a wide selection.

If you haven’t found a tailor yet to make a bolero, add sleeves, etc. let me know! I have a lot of friends that got married last year and can refer you to their tailors
