I’m not sure if this helps, but we’re not doing one either. We’re planning a few days to decompress close to home, and then we’ll take a nice trip at our first or second anniversary, when we have the funds and the leave.

I think the “quiet” time is what we’re really going to want after the busy weekend.

@MrsNeutrino:  I vote no! πŸ™‚

But if you’re really worried about it, would it be possible to plan a mini trip (not The Big One) to a place near your g-ma? That way you get the excitement of the Honeymoon trip in closer proximity time-wise to the wedding.

Yeah maybe just do a “staycation”? Or do a simplier, less expensive vacation somewhere closer to home (a road trip, camping, something like that)? You could always go to Bali on a future anniversary. πŸ™‚

Bali would be so wonderful for an anniversary trip!!

My only suggestion would be to take a couple of days off after the wedding and enjoy being newlyweds – and if you can afford it stay somewhere local – groupon has amazing getaway deals lately that might work for you. πŸ™‚

I think skipping it all together is a mistake, honestly. It’s a charmed time and you should take a break to enjoy it. I know everyone says you can always travel another time but it just is not the same!
