What are your thoughts on these first dance songs?
I really love Amos Lee’s ‘Flower’. I think it has just enough of an upbeat tempo that we can do more than just sway side to side.
Fi is voting for Tyrone Wells ‘Running around in my dreams’
and Jason Mraz ‘The woman I love’
Another reason I prefer the Amos Lee song is because Tyrone Wells and Jason Mraz are love directed from the man to woman, more one directional, I feel it should be a song about ‘our love’. The Amos Lee song is about ‘her’ also but it does’t seem to be as prevalent as the other two.
We still have a lot of time between now and May so who knows what other songs may come along until then, but these are currently our top contenders.
ETA: I embedded the videos in the HTML, but they didn’t post, weird.

Hey girl! Do any of these songs have a sentimental meaning to you and your FI?

I suggest a song that has personal meaning to you and your Fiance.

No, we really don’t have an ‘our song’. Well, actually we do, but it’s just over 5 minutes and is way too long to dance to for the first dance, and for some reason it just doesn’t feel like it is a first dance song if that makes any sense. Long story as to why it’s ‘our song’ but it just resonates with us.

If you’re worried about the length, your DJ (are you using a DJ) can always fade it out a certain point.
Obviously, if you don’t want to that one as your first dance, that’s fine! I will say, though, that my husband and I toyed around for a bit with the idea of not using “our song” as our first dance song. We ultimately decided to use it and I honestly couldn’t have seen us dancing to anything else. I don’t know what we were thinking!
As for the choices you listed, I definitely think you and your Fiance should both be totally happy with what you dance to for the first time as husband and wife. 🙂
