Here’s the dealio:
I know nothing about flowers. Ei:What’s “in season” in Canada at the end of June.
Budget is $500. This will include my bouquet & 5 bridesmaid bouquets. Nothing else. No boutonnieres. Nothing.
I do not want a huge bouquet. All I want is for mine to be a bit bigger than the bridesmaids and a different color. The ceremony is outside in a little open field type space in the middle of the woods. It’s going to be very outdoorsy/colorful already.
(My colors are shades of lavender purple, white, grey & silver) I’m renting my manzinita branch centerpeices.
Is my budget practical? The florist said they’ll work with my budget & I’ll get a free “guestbook table” arrangement if I book with them.
Any other Canadian bees want to show me some of their bouquets who had a similar budget to mine?

basically every flower is in season in June. Perhaps google some inpiration picture of bouquets you like and bring them with you. the florist can help you switch out flowers for other flowers that are less expensive if the bouquet you like is too expensive.

I’m not Canadian, but if flower and florist prices are at all similar between the US and Canada, your budget is definitely practical. I found a great florist that worked amazingly well with me price-wise and for my bouquet and my 4 bridesmaids it comes to $285. I’m paying quite a bit more than that though for boutenniers, corsages, centerpieces, etc but from what I gathered after meeting with 5 different florists is that they’re very willing to work with any budget. For example, my florist cut out calla lilies for me since they’re more on the expensive side and I didn’t care whether I had them or not. I’m sure you’ll love what you work out!

Iit sounds like you’re set for an initial consult. Like Stargurl101 said take inspiration pictures of bouquets that you like to give your florist an idea of what you’re looking for. Having your colors picked out and your budget set ahead of time will make your meeting productive.

Your budget should work adequately, particularly since you’ve already checked in with the florist on that. June is a wonderful month in which to get married with so much easily available. Yo don’t need to be the expert on flowers….let the florist lead you through a discussion of colors and flowers. It would be helpful if you take a look online or in magazines and show those images to the florist. it’s the florists job to help you figure out the flowers and colors and designs that will be perfect for your wedding. Good luck, and have fun!

I took some pictures with me and an open mind and had a really great time, actually! I researched the heck out of different florist companies for a few months beforehand and the consultation I had today was with the company that had the best reviews (many of my friends/family used them)
I basically went in, told them my colors, my “theme”, my budget and my complete lack of knowledge of flowers. The consultant brought out different flowers to show me, showed me tons of colors, everything. I got everything plus 2 extra little flowers for our moms for exactly my budget. Oh, and I get a free bouquet for the toss & guestbook table.
I’m super happy with the experience!

Go on to Pinterest and pin the bouquets you like and take them with you to your florist, if you show them your inspiration and your colours and time of year they can tell you what flowers are available. Don’t be afraid to ask the florist ahead of questions and trust their judgment it is their profession they are the experts and do this all the time. Good luck 🙂
