I have Mireana, which is an IUD and I love it. It’s good for 5 years and I don’t have to worry about going to the doctor or remembering to take a pill. I get a little bit of spotting every few months, but nothing major.

@arsing89:  I’ve got the same and love it too. Lovely and low maintenance!

Lybrel. It’s a pill, but you get no period on it.  I switched from the shot to it and have never had a problem (I’ve been taking it for about 3 years).  I recently switched to the generic version (Amethyst) because my insurance company decided to decrease the dscounted price of it (I pay pull price for prescriptions, sans a discount, until I hit my deductible).  I’ve noticed a day of spotting each month since switching to the generic, but not enough to drive me back to the brand name (yet).

I was on the Nuva Ring before TTC. I LOVED it! It was tested and is safe to use it back to back to avoid a period. I didn’t use it that way so I don’t know what would happen regarding spotting.

I recommend Implanon, the implant contraceptive!  Lasts 3 years (statistically more effective than sterilization) and very few side effects.

I was originally on Microgynon and I loved that but I had to be taken off it due to high blood pressure. I was then put on Cerazette and it is EVIL.

Ladies stay away from this pill of death! I stopped taking last November (Nearly a year ago) and I am still sufferring from the side effects.
My periods have returnde back to normal but I still get a sicky feeling at 6pm to 9pm every night. I also occassionally wake with it too.

We now just use condoms but we want to start trying for a baby next year. As soon as we put a deposite down on a house. So no more pills for me!
