- Wedding: March 2014
My subject pretty much says it all 🙁 I’ve been covering a maternity leave contract and my year is up on Tuesday. I’ve been job hunting for a couple of months now, but have only got one interview so far and my phone is frustratingly silent. Facing unemployment with very little savings, some wedding expenses to pay for (fortunately my parents are paying for almost all of it) and a mortgage is scary as heck. Add in my health issues – fibromyalgia – which is exacerbated by stress – and life’s just a party.
Sorry bees, just wanted to vent. Anyone else in a similar situation?
My experience is mainly as a court typist. I worked in a secretarial company for years when I was in university but I didn’t finish and not having a degree is clearly hampering my job hunting. Guess my mum was right about that 😉 (but given everything that’s happened since I dropped out, I still don’t regret that decision).
I had to leave my typist job because of RSI injuries so I got the contract as a receptionist – both jobs were public service. Big regrets for leaving a permanent job because of my hands, when under the law they had to find something for me to do. I was just so frustrated and upset by it all at the time that I decided to transfer to something new. I just never expected to have so much of a problem finding something new!
