So I inherited these awful stained vertical blinds. I want to put drapes up but the rails for the blinds will leave marks on the ceiling. Also, the ceiling is concrete (thank you top floor condo) and I need a hammer drill to go into them.
We put drapes up in the bedroom but the drilling in the ceiling was awful and took forever and the living room windows are 3x as large.
Anyone have any suggestions on how to hand drapes from blind rail?

Take down everything related to the blinds and hang the drapes from a rod attached to the wall.
I have never seen anyone attach drapes to the ceiling?

How far away from the wall are the rails for the blinds?
If you don’t want to take down the rails and fix the ceiling, you could build a valance. It would hide the rails. You would hang the rod from the wall as usual.
There are lots of DIY instructions online.

Awning mesh is perfect for that, or just use some window shades, sample is at here http://coastwideshadesails.com.au/shade-sails-products/awnings-blinds/
