Okay, I REALLY love the idea of having some cookie bouquets (see link below) on the tables with the cupcakes or something. They’re cute and I think the fifty zillion kids at the wedding would really like them. Problem is, they’re super expensive. I don’t know a lot about cookie making or decorating, but I love to bake, so I think my mom and I could do these with a little effort. But I need some help. Any tips on decorating cookies like this, or recipes for cookies you know hold together well? My stepmom makes awesome sugar cookies (and I personally can’t stand sugar cookies so for me to like them says a lot!), but I’m afraid they might be too soft and not hold together. They’re made with some weird stuff (my brother’s allergic to milk, eggs, soy, and peanuts), so they’re not "normal" sugar cookies. Any suggestions? Good recipes for icing? Anything? ^_^

The kind of cookies used in the photo are sugar cookies with icing on them. Another option for you could be shortbread cookies or gingerbread (both are good with icing). You could even mix them up. This is a great idea for a wedding, super cute 🙂
Here are a few recipes I’ve used that turn out good- I would try them out and do a few mock ups so you know what works for sure, I’ve never made an arrangment from cookies.
this page is full of cookie icing recipes:
and here is a tutorial on how to ice cookies: they heven mention cookie bouqets

I wanted to do the same thing for my reception, but was scared away by the price. One of my clients at work is a manager at cookies by design and she brought them to us as a gift. She said to put them on a stick they first bake the cookies then have a tool that pretty much just drills a hole and then they stick the wood stick in. Hope taht is a little help for you. Let me know how it goes for you. I am very interested! Good Luck!
