My family & friends do a cookie swap every year, I missed mine this year because I was out of town. I’m sure I missed out on some great cookies. One of my favorite hobbies is baking. I usually bake something at least twice a week, I’m always taking things to work, church, my future in-laws.
Since I missed my family cookie swap this year I thought I would post one of my favorites an see who wants to play along.
White Peppermint Snowballs are some of my favorite’s. I just discovered the recipe on FOODNETWORK.COM and I can’t get enough of them and they are really simple. Hope you all enjoy.
18oz Refrigerated Sugar Cookie dough at room temp
1/2 Teaspoon Peppermint Extract
1/2 Cup Crushed Peppermint candies (I like to use red and green)
1 Cup Powdered Sugar
Cut dough into 8 pieces. In electric mixer combine cookie dough, peppermint extract, 1/3 cup of crushed candies and 1/2 cup powdered sugar. Roll into 1″ diameter balls, place on cookie sheet 2″ apart and bake for 8 to 10 minutes in a 350 degree oven.
Once you remove the cookie from the oven while they are still warm roll them in the remaining powdered sugar. Allow cookies to cool and top with reamining cruched candies and serve.
These are super simple fantastic holiday cookies. Hope you try them and love them as much as we do.
