We’re torn about what favors to order. Initially we were going to get these cute duo macarons from Laduree. Fiance proposed in Paris so this was our way of tying in the engagement.
The flavors we’re considering are black currant/violet and lemon.
– Engagement connection
– More universally appealing?
– Box is a bit cheesy for my taste, but Laduree is all about pastels
– Three day shelf life
Now we’re also considering little chocolates from Vosges. Fiance and I have been exchanging their chocolates for years (I just got him “bacon and eggs” – bacon chocolate eggs – for Easter).
We found these awesome favors with hidden fortune cookies! The flavors are:
1) crunchy hazelnut praline + milk chocolate + praline bits
2) sweet Hungarian paprika + dark chocolate
– Delicious chocolate
– Chic box
– Longer shelf life
– Flavors might be too exotic?
– Some might not like chocolate
– Only connection with Fiance and I is that we enjoy them and get the craziest flavors they have

Looks like macarons are winning!

I picked chocolate, but in reality I’d love either!

I’d enjoy the cookies more, but I think their shelf life becomes an issue! You’d have to make sure you got them right before the wedding so they were still fresh, and that adds just one more added stressor to those few days before the Big Day!

I vote chocolate, the fact you both love them and have been exchanging them is adorable and kind of nice. Sharing what you love with your guests. Also, they look gorgeous.
P.S I want to be invited to your wedding, from it posts it seems like its going to be amazing!

I love macroons. I think they’re my favourite dessert ever, and that’s saying something. But a three day shelf life isn’t very long – think about your timeline and if you want to run around the day before.

Ok at first I was thinking macaroons but then I went through the chocolat description and they sound absolutely fab.

red_pepper_gal @abbie017: Yep! We have someone that can pick them up the morning of the wedding so logistically it isn’t an issue, but our guests would have to be told that they have to be eaten asap.
@garden_bride: Thanks! We have a small guest list so we’re going all out for our closest friends 🙂 Why not?
